About Wongaburra and it's custodians
Justin and Christine Corbidge bought this 618 acre property in December 2006, and opened it as a horsemanship centre in November 2007. The primary focus for their business at Wongaburra is as a facility for students of Natural Horsemanship where they can learn in a safe, comfortable environment with access to trails and with purpose built playgrounds for advancing their horsemanship. They offer weekend workshops, games days and week long catered camps as well as facilities for camping. The facilities include an airconditioned converted woolshed (kitchen/dining/classroom) with a toilet/shower block as well as yarding for 20 horses. Wongaburra has become a 'education vacation destination' for horsemanship students from around Australia as well as overseas.

ABOUT JUSTIN CORBIDGE - FACILITY OWNER, BUILDER & MANAGER AT WONGABURRA GUESTHOUSE & HORSEMANSHIP CENTRE
Justin went looking for horsemanship advice for two thoroughbred mares he owned late in 1999, and ended up marrying the instructor! He has been Chris' PA since then, including during the 4 years the family spent living & teaching clinics 'on the road' around Australia in their horse truck with 2 of their 3 children, which is where the nickname 'The Circus Corbidge' came from. Justin's skills, experience and talents as a facility & project manager (not to mention his good humour) have turned Wongaburra from a run down farm to the tidy, well maintained & beautiful horsemanship centre it is today. Whilst Chris loves to contribute by designing the building projects, most of the actual hands on building, plumbing and renovating work done at Wongaburra since the Corbidge family took ownership in December 2006 was done by Justin alone. (The support of many skilled friends has also made it what it is today, and their contribution will always be remembered by Chris and Justin with gratitude). Justin also works as a carer in the boarding house at The Hamilton & Alexandra College in Hamilton Victoria on top of his workload of hoof trimming & horse care, parenting duties and project building works. His genuine love of people and his willingness to go the 'extra mile' for our students and guests is part and parcel of what Wongaburra is all about. Justin spent 5 yrs as a Licensed Parelli Instructor before retiring from the Parelli professional's program late in 2016. He continues to develop his own horsemanship with his horses Finn, Harmony, Cooper and Bree and has some competition goals in mind for the future in the sports of 'Stockman's Challenge' & 'Extreme Cowboy Racing'. Justin starts the young horses at Wongaburra under saddle for their 'first ride' program, and cares for Chris' horses - Jo Cool, Durango, Libby, Soleil and Easy Peasy. (He also keeps an eye on 'Buddy'...Wongaburra's 'free range' miniature pony, with whom he has a love/hate relationship). ...you can find Buddy Corbidge on fb...seriously, he has his own page! |
